Foiled Again!

Submitted by Don on Fri, 08/21/2009 - 9:39am
  • $7 Secrets
  • $7 Secrets Scripts

Occasionally a sale for $7 Secrets will come through where the buyer attempted to change the price (usually $0.01); fortunately $7 Secrets Scripts has fraud protection and will prevent the download when the amount received is less than the price set by the merchant. I usually just add the buyer to The $7 Blacklist and let it go at that.

However, yesterday the latest fraudster had the temerity to file a support request after paying $0.01 and say "i have paid $7 for the $7 secrets. but m not able to proceed." And today he sent a money request from PayPal asking me to send him his penny back:

Rahul Aggarwal is a fraudster

I contacted PayPal, who took note of the fraud and sent Rahul Aggarwal his penny back.

That guy is really, REALLY cheapskate.

How do you detect the fraud?

Cheers

Fortunately I don't have to

Fortunately I don't have to monitor for fraud. $7 Secrets Script watches for payments that come in that are less than the set price for the product, then notifies both the merchant and the buyer that the fraud has been noted. Of course, the buyer is then prevented from accessing the download.

Merry Christmas!
